The term “demographic cliff” is causing significant ripples in the world of higher education. The number of high school graduates nationwide is projected to reach its peak in 2025 before declining; however, the impact of this decline varies across institutions and regions. As seasoned administrators in the graduate and professional space, the presenters will discuss the possible impacts that this looming cliff may have on graduate and professional programs and provide an overview of other significant trends to monitor. The presentation will end by sharing innovative practices from example institutions and an opportunity for attendees to assess their institutional readiness.
