The Mission of NAGAP is to support, advance and engage graduate enrollment professionals by promoting integrity, excellence and collaboration through education and professional development.
Board meeting held October 24-27, 2013 in New York, NY
The board celebrated the October launch of the new NAGAP website. The new site will be more robust in terms of content and will have multiple opportunities for engagement.
Zinch representatives visited with board members for feedback regarding possible collaborations.
NAGAP was represented by President James Crane and Research and Global Issues Chair Joshua LaFave at the annual European Association for International Education (EAIE) conference held in September 2013.
A subcommittee is currently working on updating the bylaws to be voted on at the 2014 annual conference.
-Worked with all committees on current initiatives.
-Held monthly meetings with Executive Committee.
Vice President (Julie Deland)
-Continued oversight regarding the implementation of NAGAP’s Strategic Plan developed in August 2012.
Secretary (Kristen Sterba)
-Finished oversight of new NAGAP website.
Treasurer (Sarah Petrakos)
-Continued to monitor fiscal status of NAGAP. NAGAP is fiscally sound.
Past President (Joanne Canyon-Heller)
-Revitalized the International Relations committee.
2014 Annual Conference (Teisha Johnson, Chair)
-The Call for Proposals for the annual conference closed on Friday, September 27. The proposals are under review until late October
-Reality Changers has been selected as the Service Project for the annual conference.
-The committee is currently finalizing the keynote speakers.
Professional Development (Keith Ramsdell, Chair)
-The Winter PDI is finalized and plans for the Pre-Conference and Summer PDIs are underway.
Marketing and Social Media (Francesca Reed, Chair)
-The committee is working on finalizing sponsorship packaging options that include advertising on the new NAGAP website.
-The committee continues to update the NAGAP Facebook and Twitter pages/feeds.
Publications (Jennifer Kulbeck, Chair)
- Perspectives will feature a redesigned cover and be published 3 times per year.
Membership (Judith Baker, Chair)
-A student membership category was proposed and approved.
-Three NAGAP receptions were supported during the fall.
-In conjunction with the Chapter Chair, a chapter grant pilot project was proposed and approved.
-NAGAP committee structure policies and procedures were proposed, approved, and posted on the website.
Research and Global Issues (Joshua LaFave, Chair)
-The NAGAP 360 and Salary Survey Reports are being completed and will be released this winter.
Chapters (Cammie Baker Clancey, Chair)
-In conjunction with the Membership Chair, a chapter grant pilot project was proposed and approved.
-There is interest in starting a Pacific Northwest regional chapter and Education special interest group.
Education (Dave Fletcher, Chair)
-The Education Summit was held in October 2013. The conference themes for the next 4 years were developed during the summit.
Online Education (Marcus Hanscom, Chair)
-Four webinars were presented since the July board meeting including one on creating a proposal for a NAGAP conference education session. Webinars are available on the NAGAP website.
