2016 Conference - Nashville in a Nutshell

The Mission of NAGAP is to support, advance and engage graduate enrollment professionals by promoting integrity, excellence and collaboration through education and professional development.

Ask anyone what comes to mind when they hear the word “Nashville.”  The number one response is going to be country music.  Indeed, the Nashville sound is everywhere, especially on Broadway—which is just blocks away from the Omni Nashville Hotel, site of the 2016 NAGAP national conference.  The street, also known as Honky Tonk Row, has live music coming from almost every bar and restaurant along the way.  Besides hearing great local bands, you can also visit the Johnny Cash Museum, the County Music Hall of Fame and Museum and any number of western boot shops!

If country music isn’t your thing, the city serves up plenty of surprises (including their down home Southern cuisine!).  The conference Fun Run will take you beyond the bar scene along the beautiful Cumberland River to Nissan Stadium, home of the Tennessee Titans.  If you are extending your stay beyond the conference, a rental car will give you access to Opry Mills Outlet Mall, the Nashville Zoo, Hermitage (the home of President Andrew Jackson) and even the Smoky Mountains!  Spring is a great time to explore Tennessee, both inside and outside of Music City.

See you in Nashville!
